Hmmm…good question. Much depends on mood, but… Borja, Estación 392, Divino Budín, Lattente, and Moisha are probably the top five. All great coffee. Different favorite snacks, respectively cinnamon roll, nutella tart, budins, cookies, and pretzels.
More often we just go around the corner to Somalia, which is more store than café, and where we buy our coffee, and they have a few chairs to just hang out in.
Ah thanks! Yes I frequently go to Lattente on Thames and Cervino, which is where I get my beans. They are in the process of “upgrading” the Thames branch (as in redecorating) and it’s killed the vibe a bit for me.
I’ll try Somalia and your others - except Borja. I live next to the Eco Park one, I’m not a fan of their coffee…too bitter and mildly unpleasant after taste. I’m a kiwi by the way, and coffee is very, very critical to existence ;)
If I had to pick one, other than just hanging out at Somalia (the Costa Rican coffee beans are the ones we buy for home - excellent!), I think Estación 392 is likely to become my go-to spot - it just opened two weeks ago. I love the vibe, the ambiance, the décor. The coffee is great, the pastries are great, and, when not in the mood for coffee, they have a full bar, and a kitchen with an decent sounding menu which I have yet to sample from.
Oh, and hey, if you're going to be in the 'hood, feel free to reach out (with a little notice) - would be delighted to meet someone new over coffee.
By the way, here we are not even a month later, and there are four new cafés added to the map that all opened in August.
What are your top 5 picks from
your cafe map? I’m needing to get out of Palermo and try another hood!

Will do!
